I went to have a bit of skin cancer removed from my face. I went to section 26 at the Queen Victoria Hosptial for a bit of plastic surgery to remove it. Section 26 was like a little hospital within a hospital, it was small and intimate with a lovely feel to it when you walked in. From the receptionist who was very warm and friendly to Lesley the nurse that took care of me so well throughout and the team in theatre, Ankur, Emily, Cat and Deniz who were just a really lovely team who made me feel really comfortable and were very professional and kind, I really can't thank you enough for making my experience such a positive one. I was nervous but you were all so good, it made me feel so proud of our NHS! Thank you all for each doing such a wonderful job, it's such a great team and I wish all hospitals could be like Section 26! Thank you very much.

Staff warm and caring
I had a minor op at the Queen Victoria Hospital today. The team was lead by Mr Ankur Khajura. I cannot praise them enough. The team made me feel totally at ease. They were considerate, caring and helpful throughout the half hour operation . The care they took to provide a very clean and sterile environment was nothing but the best. I’d like to congratulate Mr Khajura on his expertise and professionalism and wouldn’t hesitate to return if ever necessary.
The ‘after care ‘ was explained to me fully by a very caring gentleman and the receptionist kept me ‘ topped up ‘ with coffee , tea and biscuits during my brief wait.
Thank you Queen Vic…. You’ve come up trumps again. An incredible hospital. We are so lucky to have it in our doorstep.
From consultants down to domestic staff were all absolutely brilliant, and I cannot fault them in any way .
The ward staff on Rose tilly ward were over the two weeks I spent there outstanding their care kindness and consideration for me was truly beyond reproach and as a lighter note the food was of a very high standard
I attended a couple of times to get a dressing changed and check on the healing progress post surgery. The staff were very polite, welcoming and compassionate. I was seen on both occasions as a walk in and did not have to wait long before I was seen. This was also a very positive experience of the NHS service.
Thank you very much to all the team!
Outstanding hospital and staff. I can't fault them. Amazing experience thank you
The QVH is a fantastic hospital with brilliant staff. I am very grateful for the care I received in July, having surgery for melanoma. Every member of staff that I met on the day, before the op and after, was brilliant, kind and caring. The MacMillan nurses were lovely. I have no doubt the pressures you are under trying to catch up due to the pandemic; it didn't show in terms of the care you gave me.
Mr Ankur Khajuria treated me on Monday 17th May 2021. He was very polite, answered any questions I had before during and after my minor operation. All check were made efficiently by all theatre staff on the day as well as the clinical team pre and post op. Very relaxed atmosphere, which helps.
Both I and my husband have had skin cancers treated here by Mr Macdonald and the team.
The care that we have been given by everyone in the hospital has been commendable and we are both incredibly grateful.
Thank you
